Various uses of Hexacor Honeycomb

Marine Industry:
Marine industry; for boat building, furniture, reinforcement – where honeycomb is the perfect sandwich core material, lending itself to strengthen and lighten the end product.  Expensive balsa wood is being out performed by honeycomb.  Honeycombs are much more affordable and more engineering-friendly since they can be engineered to meet the desired shape and degree of flexibility.

Sandwich Panels:
One of the largest uses of existing honeycomb is in sandwich panels, typically for high tech areas such as aerospace. Aluminum honeycomb panels are used in movable stages for rock concerts, etc. Many other lower cost applications are viable targets, including many which currently use aluminum and which are over engineered, including architectural panels and bulkheads.

 Automotive Industry:
Light weight strong for use in bodies, seating, bulkheads, container, insulation…..
For Thailand in particular use as stiffener in truck canopies, bus construction, seats and arm rests.
Safety in side impacts.

Aircraft and Space Industry:
HEXACOR is the only honeycomb approved by the Chinese space agency for use in their crafts.  In general honeycomb is used world wide in aircrafts for construction of main body, wings, bulkheads and furniture.

Air Motion Control:
One of the oldest market for plastic honeycomb is the straightening and control of the movement of air, especially chilled air. Air straighteners are used in everything from commercial freezers in the grocery stores to the quench chambers in spunbond lines.  This is a very large and attractive market.  A similar market is being targeted for controlling the flow of light and we have had discussion with a leading window treatment manufacturer on this concept.

Entertainment:
For use to make sound proof rooms like recording studio, Karaoke rooms, night clubs.  Also excellent acoustic absorber.

Recreational:
For production in  surfboards, caravans, holiday house, temporally bungalows, camping….
